This thread has definitely diverted fron the OP's intent.
BTW, I don't think there is a problem reconciling theistic evolution with scripture (philosophically). After all scripture isn't exhaustive, and wont exactly define possible naturalistic prinicples that God could have used to evolve life. The problem that I have is the lack of emperical evidence for evolution that has resulted from materialistic philosophies. Physics strongly proves the old earth position but too much is missing to prove long succesive mutations in macroevolution.
