There's nothing wrong with a foreign policy decision such as was described in the OP, provided you understand the context - the Cold War was a notorious and very interesting period of time, where a lot of interesting things happened. Probably they weren't the best things, but they were human things that sometimes cannot be avoided.

The biggest thing I really have against Obama is that whole "Hope" thing. I've just never understood what his followers are hoping for - a reason to hope, perhaps? Well, I hope the election year is over with soon and we can all move on.
