Just saw Indiana Jones...
...And it stunk, badly.
Without spoilers I'll say this, picture Indiana Jones meets The Phantom Menace.
Lots of CGI nonsense, and I don't just mean action bits. Think Pokemon type critters intruding upon the movie now and again.
A George Lucas plot. -Read some kind of new age or scientology lecture. No, not even a lecture (that would imply too many ideas and the hint of dialogue somewhere in the film). More like an advertisement.
The dialogue. Lifeless. Like the whole atmosphere of the film. Just random action sequences strung together in a seemingly meaningless fashion.
Ugh. I'm so sorry I've got nothing positive to say about this movie. I only wish I could save you your time and money like I couldn't save mine.
I should've seen Caspian instead. Actually I think that's just what I'll do now.

oh yeah? Didn't like it?
I thought it was pretty good. Of course I don't like the fake nonsense stuff, like the false gods and whatnot.
But over all I thought it was good. I haven't seen the old ones in a while, except for Temple of Doom. But I suppose if you compare the old ones with the new one it might not be too good. Plus, that's just one out of the rest of the movies, to me Indiana Jones already succeeded, even if the new one isn't so good.

Thanks for letting us know Ryder. I had been debating going to the midnight showing. After this, I'm glad I didn't.

I saw Caspian last weekend...VERY good...a lot of dumb humor, but it makes you laugh even more because it's so far fetched...I'll be checking out Indiana tomorrow for myself! Hopefully it isn't THAT bad!

The new indy movie is no where near as good as the first. It's campy, rambling and senseless. The monsters were a bit goofy and the ending...well, far out is just not strong enough. I think Brendan Fraiser (The Mummy movies) would be a worthy successor if (big if) hollywood can come up with a workable script. I really think there was some drug abuse going on during the writing of this script. Rooms filled with bong smoke and lines of powder on the tables. The ending has the look of a bad trip on some strange unpronounceable narcotic....or shrooms.
I can just see Tom Cruise going "Yeah, that really could happen! Maybe it did. Wow." It should have been called "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Scientology"
Now Caspian was pretty cool. I totally agree that the humor wasn't good. It was a bit forced and not to well thought out. All in all though it was a very enjoyable movie. If you want a funny movie get Larry the Cable Guy's "Witless Protection". It's almost as good as 'Health Inspector". For the funniest I've seen in years, 'Johny English' is hysterical.
Jeez, after I read this I realized I'm rambling. Badly. Lack of sleep and encroaching senility.
