Interesting that they skipped "The Horse and his Boy", but Prince Caspian seemed more interesting to me anyways...
The Horse came next chronologically, but then they didn't do the Magicians Nephew first either.
Looking forward to seeing this one once the opening rush subsides.

i actually liked the Magician's nephew, i'd love to see them film that. The imagery of Aslan creating Narnia and all the creatures was actually pretty cool
can't wait to see Caspian though

It's too bad, but I don't think they'll ever do The Magicians Nephew. There's no big battle in it. How many big release fantasy film "dramas" do you see? There was some action in it though, just no big flashy battles. Oh well, good book.

I think they're doing the films of Narnia that still have the younger versions of the Pevensies. Edmund and Lucy both come in the Dawn Treader, I believe. After that, I don't think they show up again, right? I mean, as kids. They're all grown up when they come back. The others have their cousing, Eustace or whatever his name is, or someone other than the Pevensie kids.

Actually Ryder they are doing them in the correct order. The order that the books are in now is now how there where supposed to be. The publishing company put them that way for some reason. If you read them in the order that they are in now, then you ruin (IMO) the magic of Narnia in and of itself because you find out how things came to be too soon.
I will have to look, but I think I remember reading something a few months ago about the "correct" order to read them in and it seems that C.S. Lewis' daughter/or son (which ever it is) has them doing the movies in the order that their dad wanted them to be read in .

Right dancingwithangels, I believe that is what they are doing too. The movie was fantastic. I was disappointed with the crowds but we had beautiful weather this past weekend. My kids both thought it was better than the first (& they loved the first), even my 18yr old daughter who normally won't watch any kind of "war" scenes. I can't wait to see it again.
I don't know if I care if they do "the horse and his boy", I never quite got the siginificance of that book. I need to re-read the series.
Oh, the movie was so great!

I haven't read the books all the way through yet but I am working on it!
My mom however gave me a spoiler by telling me how Susan grows up and says that Narnia was just a game they played together as kids and how she doesn't believe anymore. It makes me sad!

Oh man I have to be out by the theater complex today, and even though I'm supposed to be getting ready to go out of town Friday evening,I can't pass up this chance, but I can't decide whether to watch Prince Caspian or Iron Man!
They are both playing and I want to see BOTH,and the viewers are loving both!
