The other day my best friend's fiance kept insisting that she put something on the bed when she went to his house (soon to be hers) to drop something off while he was at work. She walked in and found 2 dozen red roses on the bed for her with a card saying that 22 were for how many years she has graced the world with her presence and the 2 were for how long they had been together and as a whole because he was so happy that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together SUPER cute.

He's just making it hard for all the other guys that come along to our little group... not that a guy has to do that all the time... he doesn't do it often, so when he does it's special... that's what I want

my ex used to work at a day care center down here in Houston, and I would try to at least once a week, bring her lunch on my way to work. Which was kind of out of the way, cause she lived in Missouri City and I lived in Houston. It was about 50 miles out of the way.

I don't know if this would be considered "romantic" but I used to do little things like make my ex breakfast in bed and rub his back until he fell asleep when he had nightmares. I wrote one boyfriend a poem in high school

As far as romantic things that were done for me, there were different experiences with different guys. My first boyfriend back in high school took me to a candlelit dinner at an italian restaurant for Valentines day; that was my first real date like that so that was special to me. My second boyfriend took me on a picnic and also another memorable date was walking through downtown Charleston with all the Christmas lights around and just hanging out together. Third boyfriend and I used to go for walks on the beach at night. The last boyfriend I had did a whole bunch of crap (getting me roses for every month we were together, getting me jewelry and presents randomly for no reason, taking me to fancy restaurants, making meals for me, surprising me on Valentine's day with a big balloon and flowers and a bear and taking me out to dinner, walking on the beach, proposing on the beach, etc) ................. but all that stuff kind of lost its meaning since he also turned out to be abusive and said and did things that certainly canceled all the sweet things out.

I'm older now and I don't really care if I get roses and presents or go on expensive dates. I'm more interested in spending time together and enjoying each other's company.

Little things mean a lot.
