hey! You asked this on facebook! no fair!
I honestly don't know... I'd say getting up to drive my now ex bf to work for almost a week straight at 5 in the morning... simple, yes... but dude... I like my sleep.
I dunno... being a girl I tend to be more on the receiving end of romantic things half the time...

Hmm... I did all sorts of corny stuff when I was with my ex. My flatmate used to get annoyed with me for making him look bad- I was always buying flowers for no particular reason other than to see her smile, turning up unannounced with her favourite dessert, and so on.
One that sticks out in my mind is the time I used her spare keys to get into her flat when she was out in order to cook a special dinner for her. Sort of backfired though when she called my mobile on her way in through the door with her flatmate!
Another time, I arranged a special barbecue picnic for the pair of us on Arthur's Seat (big hill in the middle of Edinburgh) because she was missing bbqs from home- Steaks, wine, a big rug to sit on and a lot of hoping that we wouldn't get bothered too much by the randomers out walking.
Good times. Wish I could've done more, but it just wasn't meant to be

My boyfriend once came to my house at 2:30 am, woke me up by talking through my window. I went running out through my garage door(my room is closest to garage door) in the direction of my window. He had already had enough time to go from my window to the side of my garage. He grabbed me from behind. I screamed, but then immediately turned around and hugged him, putting my arms around his neck because he was still bent over from grabbing me from behind. He's an entire foot taller than me, so when he stood up and I was still hanging on, he lifted me up. Two-thirty in the morning, he had me lifted into the air, us both hugging each other, and we kissed. Talk about butterflies.
He has also come over another time unexpected to give me back my computer after fixing it for me. I was in my sister's room on her computer. I was reading my forums when all of a sudden I had this person hugging me! I never even saw him coming. I was SOOO suprised! He couldn't stay, but he brought my computer, got it all set up, and surprised me.
The little surprises like that really lets me know he cares and puts an effort into making me feel loved.
For him, I think the most I've done is bike the entire 10 miles out to his house just to suprise him and give him some chocolate chip cookies after he told me over the internet that he was craving them.
I've also logged onto his myspace account to write stuff on his About Me section. Before it was just blank, but I wrote lots of goood things about him. When he saw it, he was really happy.

I got proposed to! Definitely tops my list of romantic things done, and my fiance is quite romantic...after a day long date (flowers upon being picked up, missed-boat-ride-turned-into-history-museum-visit, fancy dinner out) we ended up at a lake where there is a walking path around it. We walked a little and ended up at the beach, where he wanted to sit down. So we sat and looked out on the lake, talking, as the sun was setting. Short pause, and he says "What if there was treasure somewhere around here from the Indians or the settlers??" I jokingly said he should start looking, attributing the odd-ball comment to the facts that we had just been to the Minnesota History Museum where there was a big display about the Native Americans of Minnesota and the fact that he is a history major. He started playing around in the sand and dug up an old-antique looking box, opened it and had me take out an envelope...the letter inside read "To my only beloved treasure...Will you marry me?" As I was reading it I saw him pull the ring out of his pocket and kneel down...I freaked It was wonderful and definitely tops all of the other wonderful things he has done before.
Which brings me to comment on the multitude of engagement stories I have heard from other women since sharing the news with friends, family, and coworkers....Gentlemen, do not simply ask. Do a little planning! I can't believe how many women have told me that their spouse just pulled the ring out and asked after the movie, after dinner, after watching TV, etc...Yikes...I would be disappointed!

I was studying for my chemistry final one day and freaking out because my professor said he was going to make it insanely hard just to see if we learned anything that semester. My wonderful guy stopped by my house with flowers just to wish me good luck and tell me he loved me then left to let me finish studying. It was just so sweet because it was so unexpected and he doesn't do stuff like that very often.
