I have no obsession nor fear of the enemy... I only Fear God in the way I should... but I think when you read books or watch shows that are constantly covering issues that are evil or sinful it does flow into you . I love watching true crimes and reading it... but I know that can overwhelm me with depression if I let it. The same can be said if you spend too much time reading material that is of the enemy......

My family was involved with mormonism, withcraft, and other cult like activities so when I learned how to deal with that and it mentioned that it may not be a bad thing to remove books about demons etc. I said what the heck... it won't harm me not to read them but if it MAY harm me too well better safe.

I am not saying for all, but putting yet another spin on a topic.

I think that anyone of us can be tempted or decieved by the enemy at anytime, why allow a door to even be available?
i understand i just wanted to throw that out there as a cuationary thing. i get nervous when people are talking about Spiritual warfare since its so easy to go too far.

I am a Christian who writes horror fiction. My first novel that I just finished were about demons possessing an entire town. Where did I get my idea from? The bible and the way things were before Noah and the flood how everything was evil and the Nephilim were walking the earth. It's a very spooky story indeed. My next story is going to be about a guy who is stalked by Satan. I get my ideas from the bible. The bible is a huge story about the struggle between man and Satan, between God and the devil and there are many tales of REAL demonic possession and the devil doing horrible things. There's also sexual exploits, incest, murder, rape and everything you can imagine. And that's the word of God. I think all fiction and even non-fiction like the bible...life in general is the struggle between good and bad. Angels and demons really do exist in this life and we're constantly fighting against principalities and powers. So to me there's nothing wrong with a little scary fiction.

But I used to read Dean Koontz. I'm more on a Stephen King fix right now though. My favorite book of his was Phantoms.

I've tried really, really hard to get into Dean's books. I just cannot do it. I'm a born and bred Steven King fan. "The Stand" and "IT" being my favorites.

Koontz is too intense for me.
These days I'm drawn to mellow.
