I agree with focusing on God, but actually He can drop them in your lap. I had pretty much given up when someone was quite literally dropped in mine. My daughter was getting married in June to someone she met on the "other" forum and I had chatted with her fiance's dad for over a year, absolutely nothing romantic, but when he came for the wedding, sparks flew, lol. We are discussing marriage now ourselves. He loves the Lord, and we are very much in love.....and we never saw it coming, lol.

I think God may have made somebody compatible for me but by now the world has probably corrupted him so I'm probably better off alone.

mmh...I don't think the world can corrupt a real Christian although he might be perplexed or bewildered from time to time...
It's not that he is strong but He is.

I am really wondering on this point the last few days. My trust in God in this matter has never been real strong. And the problem is that I am at a point where I pretty much have to wait on God to do some things. The waiting hurts and the suffering seems so pointless. So yes the world could get to the guy you are waiting on, but I think also God is stronger than our sorrows and that He can do miracles. I have not seen it so much in my life, but I have seen many people to whom God is very faithful.

I'm really not a believer in the whole "soulmates" thing. Do I love my husband? Sure. Do I think we will be together for the rest of our earthly lives? Oh definitely. But I don't believe that he is the only possible guy I could have had that bond with, nor do I believe we are the most perfect match for one another. I do believe that God, in His infinite knowledge put us together, and that through Christ we worked very hard to make this relationship work.

I appreciate that last post. I used to feel like I chose the "wrong guy" because my marriage didnt' work out. I thought if I had been patient God would have dropped the right man in my lap and somehow I would have known and we would have lived happily ever after.
I must admit that it was easier to marry my husband and turn a blind eye to problems that existed before our marriage. God could have made it work though had my husband chosen to stay and follow God. God could have made him the "right one" for me.

What I'm learning is that everybody has something they are hiding. If you wait them out long enough, you might figure out what it is. Then you can decide if it is bad enough to leave over.

That is why I don't think LTR would work for me. I'm not a good reader. I know a person way faster by observing how she interacts with me and others than by reading what she writes in the emails.

I'm the exact same way. I study human behaviour.

Not necessarily . . .
I'm not exactly a beliver in the "one-direction" philosophy for a person's life.
