what do you guys think? can exes ever really just be friends and nothing more? is it a good idea to try to form a friendship after a breakup or does that make it harder to move on?

would you date someone who was still friends with their ex?

I think it can be okay, but it depends on a lot of variables. I have a lot of exes that I wouldn't want as friends, even if they wanted to be friends with me.

I don't have a problem dating anyone who's still friends with their exes, though, unless they just had a weird relationship.

Sometimes it's inevitable that people will be friends with their exes. Some circles are small, you know? But like I said in the opposite sex thread, a close friendship would bother me.

Well.......I dated a girl back in 7th grade...I'm a freshman in college now and we're friends now. We've gone shopping between classes a couple of times. This was middle school, it wasn't a serious relationship, so it's probably not the same. But I think it can still be done on all levels.
