I'm Methodist with charismatic leanings. *grin* I think I recognize some of you from CF.

Hi All!
Anyone excited about what they're learning in church or in their spiritual life? I know I am. I just found a website in how to hear God's voice. (Mark Virkler, if you want to google it). So good. Its about being still, focusing on Jesus, asking a question, and listening for a response. He recommends writing it down without censoring it. I tried it yesterday for the first time, and I was amazed at what God wants to say to me. I feel as if I've discovered a new way to deepen my connection with God. If anyone else has tried this, or has read Virkler's book or taken his class, I'd love to talk about it. I know some churches give his training.
Also, I notice this thread isn't very active. I'd love to fellowship with other spirit-filled Christians. It would be fun to have a place to share about anything that is in our hearts. Get to know each other. Anyone interested?

I am so glad you have discovered this, God has much to say and sadly most Christians dont hear Him. Remember Adam and how God walked in the cool of the evening with him, God hasnt changed, He still wants that relationship with us.

Yeah. Strange that you mentioned God walking in the garden. I was just thinking about that yesterday. How wonderful it will be when we can once again, stroll through a garden with Him. I wonder if we'll all have jobs. I think I'll be tending to the flowers.....

like many other terms in the church it depends on the person and how they use it
for me when i say i'm charismatic i mean i fully believe in the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit and am open to allowing Him to work in me however He wills, whenever He wills. For others who call themselves charismatic they are actively seeking manifestation of certain gifts such as tongues and take it to the point of saying you're not saved until you have manifested those specific gifts. For other people it means being part of the Holy Laughter Movement.
so yeah... saying someone is charismatic ain't necessarily bad - just find out what they mean first

I come from a traditional background but I was invited to a very charismatic church this past week. It was a very new experience for me and there were a few things that concerned me a bit, but I liked it and I like how passionate people are about Christ there. I just hope they really are passionate about Him, and not just going for entertainment.
