Lol Steph, I am your friend.

But I really don't feel like talking about it right now (or typing the mega long history behind it all)...

Don't blow your cover? I'll do my bestest! That's very odd that the Christian group is so secretive... no one knows where they meet, and there aren't any email addies posted. Shame, you'd think they were hiding from the Chinese government.
LOL Frank Peretti kind of does, but the books are about spiritual warfare. It's a huge Peretti theme. Good luck with that rebate! And do update me on their reaction.
Thanks for the hug. I'd rather say something substantial, too - sometimes I can tell how far a "small talk" conversation will go, and I'll either stick it out for awhile, or find a reason to leave (nothing to do with wasting time!).
Oh, don't be embarrassed about that Gazette article - American military bases are fun places, and you should be honored to know a guy who's ridden through one!
I'm glad to hear that your church doesn't have those mean old Christians who gossip and neglect their kids. Do you know many people your age there?
That's true; we don't use church words to cuss in English. I don't it would have the same effect, to say things like "eucharist" and "tabernacle" when you smash your thumb in a door, but I understand why that's hurtful in French. It's painful to hear, in any language, people trampling on things that you hold dear.
When that email comes, it will be worth it - you can hold me to it!
Good point about Myspace - it's not quite as easy to get to know people over there, and I personally don't trust it because of all the sketchy emails and friend requests that come in from time to time (imagine about half the spammers emailing you both at Yahoo and on Myspace - picture or not! Facebook is much more reliable; your profile is automatically limited to only your friends seeing it. People may see your profile picture, but nothing else.
Sorry I took so long getting back to you - I had a rougher week than usual this week, and oftentimes, when the going gets rough, I tend to find a hole to isolate and hide in, and ride things out. So...TGIF!
How're you feeling these days? I inferred from the other conversation on here (hey, girls I don't know! ) that you weren't feeling too great lately.

Beautiful vocabulary Jeff! The bestest I've ever seen In the school newsletter, they posted that there will be a bakesale! I'll need to track it down first, but this might be successful. You can't keep a bake sale a secret!
Np for the hug, my pleasure. I went to the book store and told the woman that I knew Jeff and she was surprised. She asked Jeff, who happens to be the store manager, to come out from behind the counter and he didn't recognize me at all. Slightly embarrassing but c'est la vie Don't you love my stories?
LOL you didn't have to recall my story about the mean old Christians that neglect their kids, you make it sound like I'm inventing it It's true, my neighbor was like that.
My church is fairly small...there are maybe 5 people my age lol. How's your church?
Thank you for the flowers
I might try facebook soon, but you need a school email addy to sign up now and I don't have one at my cegep. I guess I'll have to wait until university...I'm already starting to think about applications Stressful.
What you just said sounds pretty depressing about isolating yourself, but I'll comment on it because I JUST read something about it in French. It's called "le complexe du scaphandrier"...I actually think that some random author invented it. Anyways, it translates into "The scuba-diver complex". Basically it says that when things get too rough on the outside, people tend to protect themselves (scuba gear and all) and dive into "the ocean". They find the deepest spot at the bottom and stay there because it feels so good to be isolated from everything. They come out only when they're ready, if they ever are. It's basically depression, but I found it to be an interesting thought.
How was your weekend?
I'm not doing all that well but it's okay...maybe I should go scuba diving Thanks for caring though.

Why thank you, Sarinka! That English degree isn't completely useless, after all! Keep me posted on tracking down that bake sale, and happy sleuthing to ya! (if you remember to, be sure to pick me up a chocolate cupcake. you can keep it on hand for when you kidnap me. ) LOL at your story. Very awesome, very awesome! Know what's funny? I applied to work at Barnes and Noble just this evening. Sooo, if you find yourself at the right B&N here in The City, and told the staff that you know Jeff... well, that would be a very interesting first time meeting! And yes, I do love your stories.
My church is the complete opposite of yours, I must say. About 5,000 people go (there are 5 services spread throughout the day), and I've never seen it, but there's even a youth group - plenty of people your age! There isn't much clapping, so the worship would be a bit different than at Nouvelle Vie.
You're welcome - I aim to please!
You don't need a school email addy to sign up for Facebook; you just need a school addy in order to get into your CEGEP's fb network and find your classmates. Otherwise, your regular email will work - mine did. Speaking of university, when do you have to start working on applications?
The self-isolation is depressing, but it's more instinct than anything else; an automatic reflex, you might even say. "The scuba diver complex" is an interesting - and accurate - name. I find myself "deep-sea diving" when things have gotten to their most hopeless point, all my resources are exhausted, and God seems to be silent. When that happens, it's time to go diving! But part of it is when I either don't want to trouble people too much with months of bad news, or when there aren't any shoulders around to lean on.
On to other things! Last weekend was OK; I turned 27 on Sunday and hung out with a friend and an acquaintance for the afternoon. How are you lately?
No problem, I do care.
