Stuff that matters...
Ok, so we're all guys, right? This is the Guy's Forum, I think...
So let's get this down: We aren't being too nice to both ourselves or the girls in our lives to act the way we do sometimes. I sound REALLY condisending right there, but here me out. Who has control over what we look at? (If you say your mom, than I think you should pay attention...) Us. Who has control over how we think about people? Us. So when we start looking at girls as objects in our life, it's really only hurting ourselves and them.
So my point: Do you have a friend who's a girl that you would consider a family member? Do you have a cousin, a sister, a younger aunt even? Now think about how we act or think when we look at a hot chick walking down the street. What is the first thing you usually think? Normally it's, 'Dude, she's hot.' Now picture your friend, your aunt, your cousin, your sister, whatever, in that place. (Please tell me you wouldn't think about that girl the same way if she was your sister). And the problem is, girls that look like that hot chick walking down the street are all over the place: Magazines, TV adds, TV Shows, movies, books, stores, and lets not even get into the abilities of the web.
So I can get to the party I'm going to be late to anyways (you see why I was thinking about it?), we aren't really helping them make decisions that might help us. Yes, it is there decision to what they do and what they wear, but it's still degrading, it isn't helping our own philosophies on life, and we need to get some of these thoughts out of our head: That they are people, not objects, and not there for just our pleasure. People.
So I am trying to get the point across. It's been a big issue for me lately, I think it has been for a lot of people, and it's not getting any better. So bash your head against a wall and get his in your skull.

That was seemingly out of nowhere.
I agree completely.

I agree, to an extent. You said that we have control over our thoughts and what we think. We do not. When we see that hot girl walking down the street, we can't control our initial thought.
But, we can control what we do next. We see that hot girl, we can look away, right away, and not dwell on what we saw.
We're Men, so we ALL have "those thoughts," we can't help it. But we can avoid situations where we will be tempted.
My $.02.

I agree that men tend to treat girls like a hunk of meat...it really disgusts me. I'm never all that thrilled when somebody honks at my girlfriend either .
