yes, i've got a few... they're all teachers from school and really admirable... really wise... the only thing is, they mean so much to me and teach me so much, but i'm scared of being a burden and don't think they realise how much i look up to them

Know this: If they love you, if they cherish you, you will NEVER be a burden to them. NEVER. If you are like me and worry about making their worry or feel sad about you, they would be more sad that you wouldn't come to them with a problem than if they were to actually feel sad or worried about a problem you were having.

I've got two highschool teachers that though I am not close to or share personal things with, they are always there to encourage me, believe in me, and have always been available for me to talk to them, and one even offered if I EVER needed a place to stay, a place to live, she would be there for me. There are there for encouragement during school year, but I've never gotten close to them, however I would trust them with my thoughts, life issues, etc.
As for my "mentor", the only woman that I look up to and can and do share everything and anything with, she isn't a Christian or even a believer in God. But she is the kindest, fairest, most intelligent, most wise, compassionate, understanding, most caring and easy to talk to person I know. I know her only through the internet, but she has helped more than I could ever hope to repay her for. I started talking to her as a scared, abused, hurt, damaged, angry, bitter, and lost child, and she helped transform me into a bold, recovered(almost), happy, confident and forgiving young woman. I'm not sure I will ever be able to fully express how grateful I am.

Yeah, somewhat. I have a few women I look up to and are friends with (in addition to my mom, who rocks.) But I also have a few people that I consider spiritual mentors that are men. Of course, all of my "mentors" are good friends, so I just call them friends.

Kinda... =[
My mom is a bit of a role model to me...but not always.
I guess my best girl friend is a kinda mentor-ish person. =] She's almost a year older than me.

Not at present - although my dad's wife and I have an excellent relationship and she's always extremely supportive.
When I was in high school there were a couple of ladies at my church who I considered role models - they were wonderful examples of Christian women and even now, >30 years later i have nothing but the deepest regard for and memories of these two women.

I totally know how you feel. I felt the same way towards my ballet teacher at one point in my life. I trusted her with things I wouldn't tell anyone, she has helped me more than I could ever say. During the 1st year I confided in her, I was terrified of being a burden or annoying. I was constantly apologising for coming in during her prep time, for asking for hugs and advice...but then I finally finally realized that the only reason she was helping me and believing in me was because she truly honestly cared about me. It is the most amazing thing. Two years later our relationship has grown incredibly strong and she is now my "other mother". Though I'm not her student anymore (graduated) I get even more advice, support, love and compassion from her. I am so glad that I trusted her and that the Lord led me to her. She's actually the person who lead me to Christ too I think you should just go for it, I'm sure that your teachers believe in you and genuinely care for you too
