Ridiculous Stereotypes

What are some of the ridiculous stereotypes you have heard about being a christian?

I had one girl trying to tell me that because I shopped at Victorias Secret and wore thong underwear that I was a bad christian and that I was pretty much going to hell and I was how does where I shop or what kind of underwear I chose to wear as long as nobody sees it make me any less of a christian. She shut up after I told her that.

I was having a "girls night out" and my non-practicing Jewish friend said " UH your a Christian your not suppose to be dancing!" and she was very "snotty" about it.

Since when?????
yes seductive dancing is one thing but hanging out dancing is not a sin.. we are to sing and rejoice unto the Lord!

Anyhow the other thing that cracks me up is when ppl say

" Your a Baptist, they don't believe in premarital sex".... I laugh and ask " what denomination does?"

i used to work with one athiest girl at the mall a few years ago who was getting her stereotypes mixed up and she told me that Christians weren't allowed to wear spaghetti strap shirts so i just asked her, 'since when?' and she got a really confused look on her face and said, 'well maybe its the Mormon girls who aren't allowed. i get all you guys mixed up!' so she ran to the next store over to ask a Mormon girl we knew there if she was allowed to wear spaghetti strap shirts but i think that ended up confusing her more because that girl was a lapsed Mormon and wore whatever the heck she wanted regardless of whether it had her church's approval

I've never been the sort to go with the trends. In high school, I never wanted to be placed in any group so I always dressed differently. I would have a day where I was preppy and in jeans and tank top quickly followed by a day where I was completely gothed out.

I made sure to schedule goth days to be the same day as my school's prayer group meetings. I always got weird looks!! So many people assume that just because I dressed gothic that I wasn't a Christian when in fact, I just like the color black. I still try to mix things up every now and again but its a bit harder to pull off in the work place.

That Christians are boring, not allowed to have fun. Where did that come from?

I get a lot of snooty comments (mostly from my dad) because I don't eat meat! I get a lot of "God put animals on this earth for their meat." Personally I far from agree with that.
