Sadly I didn't and do not have a relationship with my "mother". I only bring that here so those who are mothers can think and realize how important advise can be for your children. Many of lfes lessons I am learning on my own and leaning on my Christian sisters to help. This isn't a bad thing and I am so blessed to have them, but most are my age so ya know they don't have that long term experience a Mother may have.

The best advice a woman has ever giving me was " Don't do business with family".
Boy was she right!

My mom is a wise woman but has not given too much advise; just words of wisdom here and there...

One was: always wear clean underwear, in case you are ever in an accident...well, I figured that was good advise and so I like clean underwear all the time, just not for special occasions

Another one...a little hedonistic but here it goes: Enjoy life, you only go around once...

Well, as Christians we are told to "deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Christ Jesus..." sounds a little contradictory but I have always thought that God gave us this one life to use for Him and I have applied my mother's wisdom in this way. :yes:

Best advice my mom ever gave me?

She used to always tell me whenever I would say "it's not fair" she used to say, "whoever told you life was fair?"

And when I was going to marry my husband that had kids already, she told me "just remember one thing, .....their always going to be his kids" . Boy did I ever lean on those words while trying to be the step parent. Best advice she gave me on being a step parent. Helped me alot!
