Any Democrats here?
Are you a Democrat and feeling like a deer in the headlights these days? Or are you feeling encouraged? I am feeling both, depending on the company I'm in at the time.

I would imagine the dems are probably outnumbered here. I am not a democrat (nor a republican for that matter - I would say I fall more in line with Libertarians), but I must say I am finding myself discouraged politically. I hate to admit that I am indeed ready for "change," but not the change Obama is proposing. His plans have the government's hands in too many aspects of society for my comfort, for I am of the firm belief that it is the church's responsibility to assist in social matters, not the government's. They have stepped in because we, honestly, have failed. But that's another rant. At the same time, McCain, while I do respect him, does not give me the impression that he is the answer we are looking for. I am guilty of falling into the "Bush, part deux" crowd, and I certainly don't want four more years of that (and for the record, I voted Bush in the last election).
I am going to educate myself on the Libertarian candidates for P/VP, Barr and Root. I realize they have no chance of winning. I also realize that as long as the country has a two-party mindset and votes Democrat or Republican despite thinking a third party candidate is a better choice, that will never change.
LOL, I probably completely derailed your thread here. Sorry about that. I do hope you are able to find more encouragement and less deer as the election nears so that regardless of your vote, you feel confident it is the right one.
In Him,
Cayla

There aren't many on this site, but I have never voted for a Republican President in my life.
Yes,I'm feeling encouraged that 'finally' the majority of Americans have become weary enough of the empty lip-service about conservative family values, deception, corruption, and their personal suffering under a Republican administration to demand change.

I'm not a Dem, but I'm also not a Republican. Go ahead, ask me what I am. You'll probably be confused by the answer.
I am not a communist, not a socialist, not a statist, not a fascist, not a monarchist, not an anarchist, not an advocate of the republic, not an advocate of democracy, not an advocate of commutarianism, not an advocate of large government, not an advocate of large government in the guise of limited government, although I do advocate capitalism in a small business sort of way. I don't like corporatism, and I don't like urbanism. I don't like governments attempting to coerce or manipulate society, and I don't agree with social engineering through the pseudo-science of sociology.

I'm a Democrat (well I'm not registered as one because you don't have to register with a political party in my state but I generally vote Democrat). I tend to stay out of political discussions on christian type forums because I don't feel my political views would be welcome and I am not looking to fight with anyone. In person I have no problem discussing my political views with people I know won't get bent out of shape about someone not thinking exactly like them.

Nobody thinks exactly the same as any other person - that's sort of the problem with political discourse. You always run into some kind of disagreement over some issue or another, and it's bound to pop up even more in terms of politics than in other areas.

I'm a registered Democrat. I don't agree with Republican policies. I'm pro-Obama.

I am voting Baldwin. Neither Obama or McCain understand the US constitution. McCain fails to understand the first amendment. Obama does not understand the second amendment.
