Running an Idea up the Flagpole to see who Salutes

For those or you from CF a few years back I made a statement that I wouldn't offer a course on Cults, what they teach, how they are Biblically wrong and how to witness to them effectively. My reasoning being, and have given several times is because I think that Believers should follow the example of the Secret Service who combat counterfeiting by study the real money until they can immediate recognize the false. I think that it is a more Biblical plan.

Over the course of several week I have been told several time that I should offer this material for all believers. It will consume much time on both my part and on the part of those who want the information and the ability to deal effectively with non-Biblical cults. I would like to have an answer, either yea or nay from each of you who are thinking that this is something that you would like to know. If there is sufficient response in the positive I will do this as I finish the Attributes of God. Whether or not this does happen depends on interest and commitment.

Sorry to say this, but to be strictly honest with you, I am wary of a Bible teacher of your calibre being wasted teaching about anti-biblical cults. Teach on the Scriptural method to deal with those who are outside the faith--yes! I'd love to see such teaching, since despite a childhood in missions, dealing with people who don't follow Jesus sometimes isn't something I know how to approach from a Biblical perspective. I'd much rather have you teach God's Word than teach about people who abuse it. YMMV.

As some of you may or may not have noticed I have already started posting some of the general information. I am going to try and get this and the Attributes of God finished while I still can.

Some of the Cult information I need to modify to conform to the Forum rules. I will be posting a discussion thread in the Staff area to talk about this.
