Serious Database Work
I have just completed some serious database maintenance. The encoding problem should be fixed;
Δημήτρης Χριστούλιας
If the above text is readable, the encoding problem should now be fixed, and we all should now be able to use any unicode character we wish on the forum.
If you experience any problems on the forums (other than all of your avatars being reset - just reset them in the UserCP, as there's nothing I can do short of reloading to our faulty database to fix that problem), let me know so I can look into it ASAP. Thanks!
- Ian

Of course, to note, this fix will not automatically fix all the old posts/articles/ etc... that were broken due to the old database (the broken characters were replaced by ?'s, and as such the conversion process did not change them back to their original encoding), but any future posts should no longer have this problem.

There are 4 question marks in that, at least, that's how it looks to me. I've tried a few different character encodings, but it didn't change anything. What I can read is:
Δημ_τρη_ Χριστο_λια_

Interesting. It appears okay to me.
That might be your browser settings, depending on what encoding it's set to use by default or by manual setting. The site is now running UTF-8.

UTF-8 was the first encoding I tried setting it to. I don't know if it might be because I'm using Firefox on an iMac. I'll check it out on my PC at work when I go back on Tuesday.

That's always possible. UTF-8 should uniformly display correctly, though, so I'll see what I can find in the database settings. It might be a lingering bug from the conversion process.

Ok.... Here's something interesting...
I have Paralells Desktop on my iMac. It's a system that allows me to run Window or other operating systems in a window, while running OSX at the same time. It's similar to VMWare, if you're familiar with that. I tried using both IE and Firefox on Windows through Paralells Desktop, and everything lookd fine. The two accented letters (eta if I remember my Greek alphabet correctly) and the final sigmas showed without a problem. So, it seems that you have indeed fixed the problem. Now, if I could only figure out what the problem is on my end.
