Both my kids have a ADHD diagnosis with autistic-like behavior. Ds-16, dd 9.
My dd has been going to an Asperger social group every other week through my HMO, and there is one other girl who goes. Her mom told me last week that her dd looks forward to going because she gets to see her best friend (my dd). That put a smile on my face the whole evening. When we see them next week I think I'll suggest a play date.

Oh, yeah. Earlier in the year my dd had a school assignment telling about herself and one of the questions asked who was your best friend/friends. My dd came to me and asked me what she should write. She didn't seem upset, but this could've been one of the few times she was successul in keeping calm during stress. I was pretty bummed that there wasn't anyone even in her Brownie group that she could write down. We ended up writing down the name of a girl that used to be her friend, but we haven't seen now for about a year since they moved.

Hi, I would love to see if we could start a support group for parents here. I am at both extremes with my children. My daughter is in a selective school forgifted and talented children and my son has aspergurs syndrome. Trying to meet their very different needs can be exhausting. I have been home schooling my son since January and while I have seen some improvment and I believe it was what God wanted me to do I am a bit discouraged at the moment.
