How long after the wedding...
Did you start trying for a baby? Hubby and I were originally planning on waiting five years but it's only been two and we're talking like we're going to start trying soon.

Unless one is of the pursuasion that every form of birth control is wrong, there is no single right answer to this question. It is a decision to be made with prayer, listening, and open hearted communication by each couple, before God.

I agree. If the first night scenario was valid, every married couple would have nine children and be on Goverment assistance and my allready high taxes would be declared Usury.

to answer the OP's question: we started trying to have children right away. We got married in our late thirties, so time was of the essence...

Hi all
This is actually my first time visiting this forum, my wife and I have been married for almost two years now and well my question is on contraception, from a Christian perspective is it wrong or not, coz at the moment we have decided that one is all we can manage.

We had no intention of having kids soon, but something kicked in that made us feel like having kids after the first year. i suspect there's something hormonal that goes on to change the mind. So keep this in mind... you might be loosening up because you're in a safe zone, or your friends are influencing, or your body is saying hey why not.
Some people will say that the affordability shouldn't be an issue, but when you're in the middle of it, it certainly is.
Life would have been easier if we had held to our original goals instead of trusting these instincts, but family members aren't about life being easier -- once they're there, you can't imagine life without them. Still, I would suggest waiting a few years to get life established. Once new people are on the scene, they are there permanently.

Well we both want kids (been married almost 3 months) but no matter what time we try and begin, we have to start our Maternity insurance 6 months before we even try.
