((sorry been busy the last few days...)))
"Okay", Rynn said when everyone had finished eating. "We should leave the forest to be at the corral I mentioned by noon if possible. The road will be tough but nothing people here will find difficult."
Gabriel offered to scout above - that way he could warn them of enemies or at least other travelers should the need arise. Syl would have seconded but the look the angel gave her quelled her offer. Instead she took up the rear guard as before.
They were well on the way down the trail when they came to a rushing river with an old wooden bridge spanning the flowing water. The bridge was obviously ancient and in ill repair. "We'll have to cross here", Rynn sighed, "there is no other bridge for miles and swimming it is not an option. The only alternative we do have would be for the flyers amongst us to ferry the others over aloft... however, unless Syl has dragon strength then that is not an option." Syl shook her head, "part dragon I am, yes, but no, I do not have dragon strength."
They were still standing there when there was a loud warcry and a band of warriors came charging out of the forest towards the band of travellers. Gabriel dived toward the group just as three winged dragoman flew up toward him. The air was soon ringing with the sound of steel against steel.

Raven turned when he heard the war cry, and quickly drew his swords. A warrior came at him and swung down. Raven brought one of his swords up, clashing against the warrior?s sword, and then drove his other sword through the man?s gut. Raven did a quick spin and flung his left arm out sending the knife at another warrior?s head. Raven turned and blocked another oncoming attacker just as another warrior shot an arrow at Raven. The arrow ran through Raven?s arm. Raven pushed off the warrior?s sword with his right and drove the sword into the man?s chest. Raven turned to view the battle scene. ?There are too many of them!? he yelled out.

Achan stood on top of a tree watching the group continue down the path. He had been tracking them since the previous night.
"That is the one."
Achan looked up and saw the angel Gabbriel flying above the rest of the group.
"That angel is the one giving you so much trouble? He is weak."
"It is the weak ones who continue to return to Him."
"I could slay them all now"
"No! A dead angel is no use to me. He is already on the path. He just needs someone to push him a little.
"What of the others?"
"Once the angel has fallen, the others are of no importance. You may kill them.
Suddenly the war cry came from the forrest, and a group of warriors emerged. The battle soon began.
"Now go. Earn their trust through this battle."
"Yes, my master."
Achan's wings unfolded and he took off towards the fight, his battle axe in hand. Achan picked up speed in the air and launched himself and one of the flying dragonmen. Achan collided with the dragonman and the two crashed to the earth. The dragonman lay motionless, an axe wound in his chest. Achan quickly flew up and turned to face the battle. The air reeked with the scent of blood. An evil grin crossed Achan's face. He launched himself over the battle field , flying just over the heads of those fighting. As he flew over one of the attackers, he created a small ball of fire in his free hand and dropped it on top of the warrior. The warrior sent up a loud cry as his body was engulfed in flame, leaving nothing but ashes. Achan landed, and two warriors charged at him. With one quick step he drove his axe into the first, then spun, driving his axe into the second. Achan quickly attached his axe to his belt and held up his hands. A steady beam of fire came from them, severely burning a group of the warriors. Achan pulled out his axe again and continued to fight, slaying multiple enemies in a matter of seconds.

"It's about time this gets interesting." Daynael said with a grin as he put his mask back on, "You ready for this?" You said to Miri, "Without a doubt." She relied. Daynael drew no weapons but instead just raised his fists. Miri inflamed her hands ready far action as well. "Go over there and hold off the warriors in air!" Daynael shouted over the sounds of shouting. Miri did as she was told blasting fire balls to the sky trying to knock down the strange three winged dragon.
Warriors surrounded Daynael "Aren't you going to draw a weapon?" One of them asked. "I already have." Daynael answered showing them his fists. The men laughed, "Kill him." One said to the other. The warrior threw down his sword upon Daynael but he ducked and rolled out the way popping back up behind him where he grabbed him from the back of the head and snapping his neck. "I hope that wasn't your best fighter because if so you are all doomed." Daynael laughed.
Else where Miri had given up on the flying dragon since she had been surrounded as well. She just quickly set the ground around her on fire and then she leapt out of the flames unexpectedly onto the assailents throwing fire right keeping them at bay but their armor was protecting them from her flames. She would have fight better but didn't want to risk setting the forest on fire so had to go to hand to hand combat.
All the warriors swarmed after Daynael at once. Daynael dodged one blow while grabbing another's arm breaking it in two. A sword flew to him but he just disarmed him and threw the sword into the chest of another with great enough sped to pierce their armor. Another warrior threw a quick jab to Daynael's face but he caught his fist and threw him over his shoulder and down the ravine. Now he was left with just one. The warrior drew his sword and swung it around like a ninja warrior. This didn't concern Daynael at al. As he rushed to Daynael, Daynael reached in his vest and threw a dagger into the man's chest. "I thought you said you weren't using weapons." The man said as he fell to his knees. "I never said that." Daynael answered as he drew his sword and cut off the mans head.
He walked over to Miri who was just finishing up her battle as well. Charred warriors laid on the grounds around her. "Aren't you afraid of setting this place on fire?" Daynael asked, "If I concentrate enough I can hit them with out missing." Miri answered. "The strange dragon is no where to be found, don't know where it went and I don't see Gabriel either." Daynael found Raven in the middle of battle, "Have you seen Gabriel?" Daynael asked as he knocked out one of Raven's foes for him.

Mikah's heart beat loudly against her chest as she searched with shaking hands through Rovanties' sack for the elsberry wine he had requested. She finally found it and rushed back over to Rovanties' side. "Here." She said, opening the top. She glanced around at all the worried faces. "Tell us if they get closer, Singing Elk. We can defend ourselves if we have to. Until then we need to concentrate on the task at hand.....saving this dragoman's life." Mikah said the words but she lacked the confidence. She could shoot her crossbow better than anyone she knew, but she had never been in combat before. She sincerely hoped those hunters would see all of them and simply give up on their prey. But for someone to shoot a dragoman, they were more than simply game hunters. They were after this dragoman for a reason and she didn't particularly want to find out why.

As kirret was putting paste onto the bandage squares, she muttered "knew the Dragoman said Bandits..."
Kirret handed the squares to Ravonties. "How far away are they now, Singing Elk?"

Ravonties took what was offered and worked even quicker as he waited for Singing's reply.
*All most done! Just a little more time and we can leave. Just a little more time.* He silently begged God. *Please just a little more time!*

Raven turned to strike down another foe, only to see Daynael get to him first. Raven flipped both his swords around and drove them into the gut of a warrior coming behind him. “Not since the battle began.” Raven answered Daynael as he pulled his swords out of the shocked, and now dead, warrior. Raven flipped one of his swords around and sliced at an oncoming enemy. The warrior jumped back dodging the attack. Raven spun his second sword around, releasing it as it came down. The sword ran through the warrior’s face, killing him instantly. “They just keep coming!” He said as he pulled out his dagger and drove it into another warrior.

Achan drove his axe into an enemy, then pulled it back, making the foe fall forward. Once the fallen warrior was out of his way Achan launched a ball of fire at another enemy, setting him on fire. He saw a few members of the group talking while fighting. Achan sent his axe into a foe behind him, then pulled it out, sending it into the face of another.
“They are good.” He thought
“They are no match for you.”
Achan brought his axe up into the neck of one enemy.
“Still, it will be hard to convince them to allow me to travel with them.”
“They will allow it.”
Achan blocked the sword of one enemy then jumped up, using his wings, and flipped over the guy to the other side of him, and turned to see the guy that was coming behind him stab his own companion in the back.
“Idiot.” Achan muttered as he sent a fireball at the guy, setting him on fire.

Wow this guy is good Daynael thought to himself as he turned around a broke the nose of warior heading for him, I wonder how well he is with hand to hand combat Daynael thought as he grinned to himself. "He is right, they just keep coming." Miri said as she another ablaze trying not to start a forest fire. Daynael went to fight with Miri and the two tried to locate Gabriel but with no luck. A sword came down upon Miri without notice barely missing her. "You almost killed my girl." Daynael said to the guy, "For that you die a horrible, slow painful death." Daynael grabbed the man and lifted him into the air and dropped him down onto his knee nearly breaking the man's back. As he tried to crawl away Daynael grabbed him again and put him up on his shoulders and pile drived him into the ground. After a lengthy beating he turned to Miri and said, "How about you finnish him off." "With pleasure." Miri answered with a big smile. The man screamed out and begged for mercy but that did no good, he was a set ablaze and he slowly burned to death, she made sure it was a slow burn.

As soon as the foes had emerged from the trees, Rynn, Syl and Vancile had also jumped into action. Seeing Gabriel under attack, Syl nearly flew to help him but realised that, in the heat of battle, she might not be distinguishable from the enemy dragomen. Instead, she concentrated her attention on the ground troops praying that Gabriel would be alright.
Rynn and Syl were initially right behind Raven and Daynael as they charged the bandits, but whirled to face the river as new foes arose from the water. A pair of River wights. Deadly and wicked. Rynn cursed fluently, "Only enchanted blades will harm these creatures Syl! Are your blades enchanted?" "No", she replied grimly, "enchantment is something I can ill afford." Rynn cursed again, "then I'll take them, you help the others! Vancile I could use a hand here!", he shouted as he prepared to take on the wights alone.
Syl sprang into action by guarding Rynn's back as three bandits left the main battlefield to deal with them both. Silent and deadly, she parried one of their descending blades with her own, while simultaneously slashing open the throat of the second. The third bandit thrust for her open midsection only for her to spin and trip him off his feet with her tail. Continuing the motion, she cleaved the head off the first bandit. As the other staggered to his feet again, her swords found their target and he fell to the sand never to stir again.
More and more men poured out of the forest toward the group. Gabriel, still struggling with the flying dragomen shouted his thanks to the newcomer as he dealt with several of the would-be assassins. He battled bravely, but the remaining dragoman got a lucky strike through and cut off one of Gabriel's wings. He screamed in anguish as he fell to the ground, his legs breaking on impact.
Rynn continued battling the river wights his solitary blade weaving a firey dance parrying, slashing and thrusting. He could not continue this forever though and the fierce attacks of the wights were continually threatening to break through his guard. It was a matter of time, and then he would be lost.

Vancile heard his name called, from a fair distance away. He looked toward the lake, and immediately saw Rynn battling two water sprites. Without pausing to think, Vancile nocked an arrow, drew his bow and shot a sprite straight in the chest. Without having time to admire his perfect shooting, the Sprite ran at him. As it came towards him, Vancile pelted it full of arrows, until just before it made contact with him, the Sprite dropped to the ground at his feet.
