"I grew up in Northway Orphanage here in New York," Jackie said, "I came here when I was about 13, because my powers became really evident. Before then, I had a way with animals, but nothing too bad. I came here and learned to control my powers. It was also difficult to live in an orphanage with a tiger and German Shepherd. I rescued Sanja right before I went to the X mansion, and I haven't moved anywhere since."

Alex smiled, "DJ and I came here from Australia when we were fifteen." Though it was obvious to anyone who knew them, because of their accent. "We discovered our powers when we were thirteen. Mine were subtle, but I needed to learn to control them, because I'd often accidentally trigger my night vision in broad daylight, which tended to hurt. DJ, on the other hand, had a bit of a rude awakening to hers." He stopped momentarily, and then continued, "She put her first boyfriend in the hospital. Accidentally shattered his hand. When our father found out about us, he stopped sending child support, so our mom used all the money she had left to send us here. We've lived here ever since. Graduated high school here. We didn't know we could communicate telepathically until we got here, so the Professor started helping us learn."

"That's cool," Jackie said, "The professor helped me to develop my communication skills with animals. He's helped me a lot." They continued chatting until they got to the theater. Alex bought the tickets, and got a popcorn for them to share.
"Thanks a lot for paying for all of this," Jackie said as they sat in the theater, waiting for The Dark Knight to begin.

Alex smiled, "It was no problem. I may not be the definition of gentleman, but I know enough to take care of the movie ticket and snacks when I'm on a date."

"I think you're a perfectly fine gentleman," Jackie stated, smiling up at him. The movie started, and they settled down to enjoy it. They came out afterwards talking and laughing about the movie. Jackie yawned. "That was just about as good as the first one," she said, stretching a little after sitting for so long.

"Tell me about it," Alex replied smiling, "Harvey Dent's face looked amazing. I knew it was going to be grotesque, but I had no idea it would look that awesome."

"Yeah, I'll have to put that on my wish list," Jackie said. She looked around, and shivered. She noticed Alex shoot a glance at her and said, "I'm fine, I just got a strange feeling that we were being watched. I'm sure it's nothing," she smiled up at him as they walked back to the X mansion.
