"I'll go." DJ interrupted her brother with a smile, "You guys stay here and... chat."

Alex gave her a glare, and she replied telepathically with, "Ask her out already!"

With that, Dana turned to leave.

"Try not to burn a hole through Dana, Alex," Jackie said with a little smile on her face, her eyes turned into a cat's eyes. "I think you might want her to be around for future events,"

AJ smiled with a chuckle. "What am I supposed to say, Dana?"

"I don't know!" Dana replied, "Ask her to the movies or something!"

Dana walked the halls, thinking about the situation. He must really like her. I've never seen him so nervous about a girl before.

Alex nodded awkwardly. "Uh, Jackie," he said, attempting to clear the nervousness from his throat, "there's something I've been wanting to ask you."

"Yes?" she asked. She felt a little nervous all of a sudden. It was just her and Alex, plus her animals. And he was going to ask her something. She was excited but scared of what that question might be.

Without realizing it, he found his eyesight suddenly changing. Infrared vision. He may have had complete control of his powers, but he was warned that certain things or feelings could trigger them. His nerves must have been the trigger. Before he was able to change them back, he couldn't help but notice a sudden change in Jackie's temperature. Her blood-pressure must have been rising slightly. She was nervous?

Though it was only for a moment, it was long enough for the girl to notice the change of his eye-color from blue to red, and he shut his eyes tightly, hoping that she didn't. She was blind, right? Well, sort-of. He almost slapped himself, realizing his thoughts. He shouldn't be hoping that her blindness would work in his favor. What kind of person was he, to be thinking like that? He would understand if her answer to the question was no.

He opened his eyes again, taking a breath. They were back to normal now. He looked at her again. Whether she noticed or not, it was not the case. He should still apologize to her. "I'm sorry."

"What for?" Jackie asked, tilting her head with a confused look on her face.

After Angel had returned to his room, he opened his window. Then, he uttered a hawk call. A hawk answered him, then dived down from the sky and into his room. The hawk landed on Angels ready arm, settled his feathers down, and began to preen them. "Hey, Sky, how's it going?" Angel asked his bird as he closed the window and started to pet his bird with his left hand. "What did you do today?" Angel could sort of communicate with birds, but is was very tentative. He could only really talk to Sky, who his mother had given to him about a year before Angel had decided to leave. However, it was a 2 in 1 deal. Angel taught Sky to obey and talk to him, and Sky taught Angel a lot about flight.
After he was done talking to Sky, Angel looked at the clock. He still had about 10 minutes before he had to rendezvous with the other 3. He wondered if Alex had gotten the guts to ask Jackie out yet. He smiled to himself. He then put Sky on his bed, then went around to setting up an area for Sky to hang out on.

(( Bahh.. Sorry. Writer's Block... ))

Alex's eyes fell to his lap. She never noticed. Well, now he felt like an idiot. "Uh..." He stammered, "n-nevermind."

He rose his eyes to her again, being sure not to let his powers make the same mistake again, and discreetly taking a deep breath. "Um.. I was wondering," He asked, finally managing to swallow his nerves and changing the subject to the very one he was inching for in the beginning, "do you think you'd like to go see a movie, or something with me sometime?"

There.

He said it. And, he had managed to regain his confidence.

The hard part was over.

Dana stood outside Angel's door, and knocked softly.

"Angel?" She asked through the wood, "It's DJ."
