Okay, so I was hoping some people would be up for some good RPs. So... Anyone?

Well, I would like to revive my Candyland RP, but that depends on how many interested players we'd get.

Well, it was to be a serious RP after the stylings of (groan) Tolkein; you know, an epic adventure before Candyland was turned into a children's story; during the times when Candyland was wild and Plumpatrolls ruled the southern Sugarplumtree forests.
Which, obviously, will turn the thing into a comedy once you remember that we're talking about Candyland. But I don't want it to be written like a comedy. I want it to be a slightly-less-than-serious dramatic adventure.

Well I still think it's a good idea. I say we try to get it started. Maybe put your initial post detailing all the races and things on here and see if people want to join in.

Here's the details. It looks complex, but it really isn't.

The world of Candy Land is much different now than it once was, long long ago. It was a great war that decimated much of Candy Land and its people. This is the story of that war. First, however, I must teach you of the way Candy Land once was.

:Lay of the Land:
-The Wastelands
We will begin with the southern border of Candy Land. It is a great desolate waste for many miles. No candy-landians have ever crossed the Wasteland and returned. No one knows what lay beyond or if there is even a beyond.

-Gingerplum Forest
The Gingerplum Forest is the first break in the Wasteland. It is the southernmost part of Candy Land. Here grow the Gingerplum trees, the only source of sugarplums and a healthy source of gingerbread. The forest is home of the PlumpaTrolls, who harvest the plums and gingerbread.

-Cinnamon Flats
The Cinnamon Flats are slightly north and further west of the Gingerplum Forest. A hot, dry, arid place, this desert lays at the foot of the RockAndy Mountains. The volcanoes that tower above the flats produce the fireballs that can burst into flames on demand. Few creatures live here, only those that love the heat.

-RockAndy Mountains
The RockAndy Mountains stretch from the northern shores of the Soda Sea to the southern reaches of the Cinnamon Flats. In the southern range the mountains tack the form of volcanoes that produce the flaming Fireballs. In the middle of the lands, the Pop Rock Mines are located, the only known source of Pop Rocks. Up north, the mountains are mined for jawbreaker ore and sugar crystals, the hardest and most magical materials in Candy Land respectively.

-Gumdrop Mountains
Northeast of the Gingerplum Forest is the small range of Gumdrop Mountains. These mountains are the main source of all things gummy and jelly. Gummy worms and bears roam in the higher reaches while jelly beans are grown at the base of the mountains. Here live the Jels, who mine the gumdrops for the other realms.

-Lollipop Woods
Tall, colorful lollipops tower over these woods which lay west and north of the Gumdrop Mountains. These lollipops are known to possess magical properties. The forest, however, grows thick at times, and the Cotton-candy spiders can make the forest difficult to pass, and many travelers have been lost in these woods. For this reason, the princess of Candy Castle often lives in these woods guarded by the Lollifaeries.

-Candy Castle
Exactly center of Candy Land is the Candy Castle. Gingerbread is the main supply harvested here, but little else is actually grows here. It is, because of its location however, a major hub for all the denizens of Candy Land. A great center of trade, all races come to sell their supplies to the other races. Towering above the town is Candy Castle, home of the royal family over the Gingian.

-Molasses Swamp
Directly west of Candy Castle is the murky Molasses Swamp. Little is known about the place, as no one travels through the swamp unless absolutely necessary. Rumors exist about creatures made of nothing but the gooey muck of the swamp.

-Nutt Fields
Between the RockAndy Mountains and Molasses Swamp exists a small field where the Nutt clan harvests the nuts that grow here. However, there is nothing noteworthy of this place, as the nuts are nothing special, and nothing but the farming of the nuts happens here.

-Licorice Hills/Caramel Crags
The Licorice Hills and the Caramel Crags share the same cliff due south of Candy Castle. Atop the cliff grow the licorice tangles, in and below the cliff are the caves of caramel stalactites and butterscotch stalagmites. Both are collected by the Licorians, who live pleasantly among the dark chocolate bats that inhabit the same.

-Peppermint Forest
On the northern plains beneath the RockAndy Mountains rise the tall canes of the Peppermint Forest. Here are harvested the finest peppermint sticks in all the land. The snowy land is home of the Mintese, who craft the peppermint into treats and tools for themselves and other races.

-Ice Cream Isle
Perhaps the coldest place of all Candy Land is Ice Cream Isle in the Soda Sea. The frozen land is noteworthy for the Frostlings, a race of noble folk who live in peace adrift the island. Wisdom-gatherers, they are often the one from whom to seek council. Getting to them, however, is quite a task.

:Candy Land Creatures:

-Gingian
The Gingian are the most populous race of Candy Land, equatable to humans. They are various in task and abilities, appearance and personality. However, they are keenest in trade, but are no mean fighters or slack workers. They are mediocre in magic, but are good in relations with the other races. This allows them to adapt through the skills of the other races while they can add to the others in their weaknesses.
--Society
The Gingian society is diverse, with the men and woman having equal roles in society. However, there is a noticeable difference; the men are the primary warriors, if need for war arises, while the women tend to supportive roles and are not involved in direct war-combat. However, female warriors are sometimes used as envoys for specific tasks.
--Specialty: Magic Animation
The Gingian are skilled at bring their primary resource, gingerbread, to life. Their armies often exist of animated gingerbread men. Since these are usually weak and not very durable, the Gingian also war along side their nonliving armies.

-PlumpaTrolls
The PlumpaTrolls are a short, stout, green-haired race which we would equate to dwarves. They are strong in both war and labour, though they lack some of the cleverness of the other races. They tend mostly to agriculture, specifically the Gingerplum Forest where they call home. Despite their fur-covered bodies, they handle the cold poorly. Their magic is limited, but their strength more than enough to cover for it. They mainly harvest the sugarplums, but also take to the work of harvesting the gingerbread at need.
--Society
The PlumpaTrolls have traditional roles as society goes, with the males doing the field work and the females in the homes. However, the role of the females is questionable, as they are rarely ever seen about. Rumors suggest that they do some other unknown work, although other rumors suggest that there are no female PlumpaTrolls. Neither of these can be confirmed.
--Specialty: Strength
While PlumpaTrolls trade for certain magical resources, they rely mostly on their immense strength for most of their tasks. They wield axes as tools and, if needed, weapons. However, their main use of strength is to shake loose the sugarplums or cart around their harvests.

-Jels
The Jels are also short and stout, but not hairy; we would relate them to gnomes. They are not very strong, but they are quite durable and very crafty, though not very clever. They are responsible for all machinery in Candy Land, but tend to focus only on their works. They are often absentminded and flighty, but their minds can solve certain problems with relative ease. They have some magic skills, but they tend to develop their machinery moreso. Their main resources are the gumdrops and jelly beans they live around.
--Society
The males mine the gumdrops while the females harvest the jelly beans. In other tasks, though, each are considerably equal. Their society revolves around their resources and their inventions, both of which take most of their time.
--Speciality: Inventing
While the Jels could also be noted for their shape-shifting magic, their desire to invent far exceeds any use of magic they might practice. They have a keen observation for how things work and the mechanics of the world around them, but they are otherwise rather unobservant.

-Lollifaeries
The Lollifaeries are a small race of fairies that live in the Lollipop Woods. Winged and clever, they are the only ones who know the ways through the dense woods. They tend to be secretive and distrusting, however, preferring not to have any contact with the outside world. This can be attributed to they small size and general weakness. They make poor fighters, and even though they are very skilled in magic, they have very little in offensive magic. They have remained neutral in every war to date. This, coupled with their impossibly complex network through the forest has caused them to be rather ignored than otherwise. They have good relations with the Gingian and the Frostlings, but are hesitant with any other.
--Society
The Lollifaery society, while technically governed by a king, is mostly matriarchal, with the females doing most everything for their culture. This is not because the males are lazy or their role is diminished; it is simply because male Lollifaeries are rare, with a ratio of about ten to one against. The males, however, live much longer than the females. The male scarcity is why, if ever their would be a war, the Lollifaery army is comprised solely of women. However, their only cause for war would be to protect the princess(es) of the Gingian if they had no other option.
--Speciality: Magic Illusions
The Lollifaeries have two main magical traits, thanks to their main resource, the lollipop crystals. Their skills are the ability to cast magic illusions with the crystals and the ability to see beyond their natural surroundings through the crystals. These two skills have kept them a safe bastion as long as Candy Land has stood. Though they do trade some of their magic lollipop crystals, mostly with the Frostlings, they alone know the secrets of tempering the materials for magical use.

-Licorians
The Licorians are tall, slender people who would be similar to Nordic elves, but not nearly so pleasant. They are clever and agile, though not very strong. They have limited abilities in magic. They are, in general, distrusting of the other races, but will use them as far as it benefits their own society. They mainly tend to the licorice fields, which are used commonly for rope, but can be convinced to collect supplies from the Caramel Crags as well. Again, though, they will almost certainly question what they get from the bargain. Shrew in business and crafty in council, they are among the most respected (and feared) people of Candy Land.
--Society
The Licorians society is a matter of true equality regarding males and females. Neither is given any special treatment or place because of their gender. However, the differences come mostly in their individual manner of approach. Females tend to be more subtle while the males are often bold and upfront. However, that is not to say that the reverse cannot be true at any given moment or even in the long run; it is simply the observed tenancies.
--Speciality: Agility
The Licorians are the most nimble and agile of all the races, mostly because of their long limbs and flexibility. They are masters of the whip, which grow in plenty around their lands.

-Mintese
Tall, slender and kindly, the Mintese dwell in the cold northern lands, not completely dissimilar from giants. Despite their slender build, they are actually very strong. Usually passive, they have a kindly nature toward all the races. They are very creative, shaping their resources into tools, toys, and even weapons at need. They are also fairly agile and dexterous. Their one weakness is their poor construction and constitution; most nominal injuries will cripple them while a simple illness can bring them down for days or weeks. They also lack in magical skills, practicing only certain crafting magic they need to make their devises.
--Society
The Mintese society is very task oriented. Males either work as peppermint lumberjacks or miners in the RockAndy Mountains. Females work on crafting the raw material into usable things. These roles are never reversed, but the Mintese do not look poorly on the practices of other racial societies where such role distinction is not present. "Each to their own," is an accurate motto for the Mintese social policy.
--Speciality: Crafting
Mintese can take just about any material and extract a usable purpose from it. The rest of Candy Land relies on this skill as almost all goods of any value are handled at one point by the Mintese. It is almost a sixth sense for discovering an object's usability.

-Frostlings
The Frostlings are a race closely similar to Nordic elves. They live out in the Soda Sea on the Ice Cream Isles. They are suited to very cold temperatures, but can also tolerate some warmer climates. They export little in the way of supplies and goods, since anything they would make could not last except in the frozen temperatures of the north. They are both noble and sageous, known for their wisdom. They are both capable in body and in mind, which, coupled with their magic skills, makes them a force to reckon. They have produced some of the most beloved heroes (and heroine) as well as the most heinous villains of all Candy Land.
--Society
While not as strictly enforced as Mintese society, the males and females each have specific roles. Males are noble sailors and swashbucklers that ship goods to their homes and to other parts of Candy Land. Females are more scholarly, gathering wisdom and honing their magic skills. They are predominantly a matriarchal society. They are less isolationistic than the Lollifaeries, but they do keep to themselves simply because their location away from the main of Candy Land.
--Specialties: Wisdom
While the females study wisdom, it is an innate trait in the race. This is likely why they are skilled with magic, although it is the females which mainly practice it.

There are also other races, specifically those in the Cinnamon Flats, that I have not listed. Those may or may not be added in time, except for the Cinnamon Flats' race. I just don't know what to make them yet.

Yes, you can. I'd like to have a general idea about everyone's characters, at least what race each person intends to play. There are some flexible points in the story, and I want to know how to adapt to everyone.
