Default Mikal

Name: Mikal
Age: 31
Race: Mintese
Gender: Male

Appearance: Standing at 6'10", he is of no unusual appearance for a Mintese. His flesh is pale white, his hair wild curls of pink, but fluffy not coarse. Narrow in chest and lanky in limbs, one does not expect the great strength behind his slim frame. His face, however, is rounded, and above his bulbous nose shines his black eyes, which glimmer in the light like the night sky full of stars.

Personality (+): Mikal is kind, almost to a fault. He thinks nothing of doing people favors and rarely asks anything in return. He loves good music and art, and likes sharing both. He has a clever streak in him, but it reveals itself randomly. He is very sympathetic to the tribulations of others.

Personality (-): Mikal has a hard time saying no; this lead to swindlers taking advantage of him. He tends to be cowardly and views bravery foolish if it is not warranted. He is easily depressed by what seems to be overwhelming odds. Tends to be pouty if he is going through hardships.

Special skills: He has a knack for crafting objects well. He has considerable skill with an axe. He can play flutes and the like well.

Possessions: He wears a typical peppermint armor of his race, which mainly protects the arms and legs. He also owns a suit of Jawbreaker armor, but this is kept in a chest at home. He carries a peppermint axe for work or protection, and a small rockandy knife for various tasks.

Motivation: Living a long life with as few disturbances as possible.

Gates:
"Gates are a defensive weapon; their purpose is to keep the enemy from entering the city. Gates can only work if the enemy attacks. If the enemy never attacks, what use are gates? They become nothing more than decorations.
"But they have done their job, have they not? If they enemy never attacks, then the gates have worked perfectly; they kept the enemy at bay. If the enemy never attacks, the gates have done precisely what they were built to do. The gates have defeated the enemy; the gates have prevailed.
"This gives new light to Matt. 16:18 when Christ says the gates of Hell cannot stand against His church. The verse assumes we are on the offensive, that we are storming Satan's stronghold to rescue the perishing captives. If we are not, then the gates have in fact prevailed over us. Much more to our shame then, for if we had but mobilized, the gates should be trampled under our feet."
