Personality: Quiet and reclusive. She holds a deep love for nature, and is happiest when surrounded by woodlands. When confronted with people, she tends to act on autopilot, giving responses only when needed. However, when someone gets on her nerves, or is nasty to her (or those she loves), she can be startling in her reponse.
Background: Her mother died in childbirth with her sister, who was dead when she was pulled out of the womb. Alanna was 5 at the time. Her father, who was a jovial man before his wife's death, went into deep mourning, neglecting to care for his only child. Villagers would bring her food and clothing, and take her out into town, but Alanna spent most of her time running around the woodlands near her father's cottage (which the Villagers muttered about; How can it be safe for a mere child to run around in dangerous woods?). Some years later, a "long lost relative" came into town, seeking Alanna's father. It turned out, the "relative" was his sister, who was married to a wealthy businessman and lived in Dublin. Upon finding the state of affairs, the sister turned the household around and made Alanna's father wake up to sense, find his life again, and take another wife. She then took Alanna to live with her in dublin, bringing her up to be "respectable". Alanna was 13 when she was taken.
So, life went on, she grew up and studied to be a veterinarian. When she turned 21, the doctor diagnosed her with breast cancer. Her aunt and step-uncle paid for the newly released treatment -The cure for cancer.
Months later, weird thing began to happen. She was able to talk to plants, to feel their moods. Animals were friendlier to her. She found twigs and leaves in her hair, and when she pulled them out, they came back a couple of hours later. However, the worst had yet to come.
One night, she was walking home, when she was surrounded by drunken men. In her panic, she changed - she morphed. She turned into a spriggan. the men, afraid, ran, and Alanna changed back. She demanded to know the source of the cure - for she was sure that was what changed her. Upon learning it was Ryder's lab, she decided to head there.
She is introduced to the story about a kilometer from the lab.
Powers: Ability to feel the mood of plants (and repair plants) Minor communications with animals, minor healing of animals, and in Spriggan form can draw sustenance from surrounding trees.
Weaknesses: Fire, and if she doesn't get a good amount of sunlight she feels drained and weary. In Spriggan form, she gets very protective of surrounding nature and if someone near her snaps a branch or pulls a plant out by the roots or whatnot, she will fly after them and attack them
