Check-In 2
Hi folks
Well I thought I'd start a new Check In thread!
The old one was well over 1000 posts anyway!
So hopefully the staff will allow us all to continue to support each other and provide help and feed back and accountability in the Christian based atmosphere that we were seeking when we first came here.
Love you guys and girls!
Pete

You know one thing that has occurred to me recently is that when I first came to UY in CF I was the only guy I knew living in an UY marriage. And all the books and articles were written from a female perspective.
It has been great to get to know you guys (and you girls too) and to learn so much from the struggles we all face!
I look forward to continuing that fellowship!

I have actually been toying with the idea of writing a book on the subject.
my wife is the writer in my family and God told me years ago she would make it big but only after she was in submission to God. I wonder if He will let us write this together.
oh and for the record 1us gallon =3.79 liters I believe an imperial gallon is 4/5 of a us gallon.

Hi all.
In my old huge church, I knew of only two other guys who were UY. And like your experience, the books I found were written from a woman' perspective. That's all well and good, as perhaps it is more common for a woman to be in such a situation... or is it that we only hear more about it when it is that way? I suspect both.
Cory, I pray your wife's time to submit to God would come soon. This journey has exhausted me at times. If you have the energy and drive to write a book, great. I don't always have the energy or focus to get even my daily responsibilities accomplished.
Well, I may stick with the approximation that 4 liters = 1 gallon just for simplicity.
Accountability: yesterday only 1 liter of water, but I did skip again that snack just before I went to bed!
I have a short road trip today, so I won't be around til the afternoon.

glad i did not jump into this forum with both feet.
I have been feeling displaced with the last move.
On the subject of milk I just go with a close estimation. Besides I buy 2 L now that one son has moved away from home.
I have a funeral to attend later today. One of our church members went home last Sunday. I have known her all my life since she was friends with my grandma.

Yay! We're back up and running. Thank goodness, I don't know what I would have done without this thread. Hope you're all doing okay!
Cory, I think writing a book would be an awesome idea...you MUST do it! Because I said so. ;-)

hey hey...was getting worried there...
A book would be interesting...I get told to do that all the time, but not on UY. I keep getting told to write on the work I've done with our son. Our Dr just told me again last week to do it. He said people need to hear how you approached a lot of the symptoms because our DS doesn't show any now.
My biggest concern is what it might do to him. Being obedient to God has helped him get where he is today so writing about all the stuff in the past and then putting it in print leaves me feeling like I've branded him for life. One day he's going to be completely normal, living a normal life, doing normal things...do I really want him to have a book haunting him. Does that make sense?

Kay, a lot of people are telling you to write on the subject. Have you prayed about it?
If you have or do and you feel you should write about it, you have a few options. One would be to write the info now while it is fresh in your mind, but not publish it yourself. If you found someone else who researches or writes on the subject, you could make your notes available with the stipulation that neither you nor your son would ever be identified.
Another option would be to ghost-write it, but I'd guess there are ways of people finding out your identity if you do that.
I think your first step is to pray about it and see what answer you get from God. Then disregard all other input that doesn't agree with the answer to your prayer.

If his healing is linked to obedience to God then do not write a book unless you specifically hear (yourself) from God to do so!
Anything else will ruin all the work you have done together!
