Thank you CCF - New Check In Thread
Well I'll be first to post here!
I am Pete and I am Unequally Yoked in marriage to my DW of 30 years.
I hope that this forum will be a safe replacement for those of us from CF that need each other to support and encourage us through the long and rocky path, that is a marriage to an unbeliever, just as we have received from each other for the past 3 + years in CF.
A place for Christians to discuss the issues of being married to and unbeliever, to get advice and support and most of all fellowship.
Thank you CCF for listening to my request and acting so quickly!
Bless you
Pete

What is unequally yoked? Is that when you are married to someone who isn't a Christian?

Hi Pete,
I've got a new username.....This place is kinda more difficult to manuver around in....I thought I'd come check it out and create a user name, considering all of our stickies are gone....hope that's temporary.
Kumbayah.....Being unequally yoked is when there is one spouse that is a believer and another that is not. It can be used in many different scenarios, including bussiness parterships and other things, but here it's in a marriage.
Some of us married our spouses when we had fallen away from God, others, didn't realize they were disobeying God's word, then others were saved after marriage, but we all have deep desire to see our partners in this life become members of our heavenly family.
So Pete, have you figured out who I am?

When my husband and I got married, I thought he had a heart for the Lord. He said he did, but he also said he was really different than he was when we first started dating. I didn't know how different one can be when they are dating, but I came to find out that he was really different. I do not believe that he is a Christian, but I think God is starting to work in him, so I pray that some day we will be equally yoked.

Kumbayah
Pete and I are from Christianforums.com......we have an unequally yoked fellowship thread over there with many other believers in the same situation.
We fellowship, share struggles and give wisdom to each other as well as prayers.....we are concerned about the website because of certain policy changes, so were coming here in case things don't remain good there....but as of right now, you should drop by there and get to know us....many different situations....I was saved 6 months into my marriage, right before I had my first child.....we've been married 9 years now and have 3 kids....My husbands salvation is the most important thing in my life to me, I pray for him constantly, and hoping for him to see Jesus in me....There are many others....you might find comfort in our little support network.

Well I am sorry that I haven't posted here for a while, I was away on holiday and then when I got back the whole CF Staffing issues got to me and then I was away again at New Wine (A UK Christian conference)
Then when I got back from there I have to admit I forgot to check here until I got a birthday greeting!
Rox and Kay, I'm glad you found this place too, at least we have somewhere to retreat to if the worst does come to pass in CF!
Kumbayah, if you havent come to CF UY yet, you might like to try it, most of the gang are still there for now.

I knew when I dated and married my husband that he didn't have a heart for the Lord. He pretty much viewed all religions as the same. He has attended church periodically over the years - but I don't think at all (other than exceptions for things like funerals or baptisms, special services at our children's schools) for about 8-10 years.
He would tell anyone who asked that he is a Christian - but primarily bases that on the fact that he was raised in a church. I will say that he does have a strong moral ethic that is founded in the 10 commandments - but as you know that doesn't necessarily mean that he's regenerate.
All that said - with my health issues over the past year he's actively requested prayer from my church family and recognizes the answered prayer in my life - and praises God for those answered prayers. So, I believe that God isn't through with him and that I might well live to see his conversio. And even if I don't see it, I expect it to happen and trust God that he and I will be reunited in heaven. After all, it's God's timetable, not mine.

It does sound like your DH is still on the fringes of faith from his childhood experiences.
Can you tell me what sort of church experience he had (Catholic, Baptist etc...) it sometimes has a bearing on how a guy views God and therefore can block him coming fully to know God's love for him!
I know it kept me at bay for years and God had to use a pretty big event in my life to get me to a point where I could experience His love for me!
I will try to remember to check here for replies, but if I forget, feel free to give me a nudge on CF too!
