Default Is anyone else kind of psycho about grades?

I spent Friday night and all of yesterday working on homework and today I will be doing the same thing (once I've gotten enough coffee in me, that is). I'm sitting here thinking that A's are like hot dogs and I'm like a dog jumping through hoops to get them. I have not had anything less than an A since 2005.

I don't know where I'm going with this....

In one part of my mind I'm like "have to get an A have to get an A have to get an A" and the other part's going "you know what this kind of sucks, maybe chilling out and getting a B wouldn't be so bad".

But A's are extremely rewarding in the long run....

i am kind of nuts about my grades..more so now since I am just getting into my core classes for my major.
I already have much to do, readings, long papers, etc. I'd be satisfied with anything above a B(B,B+, A, etc)

and yes, A's are def rewarding. Makes one very proud of themselves for a job well done.

Oh yes, if I don't get an A or full credit for something, I feel like a failure. Awful, eh? I was breed this way and it's really not helping.

yes, I've been getting A's for a while too and I really want to get straight A's for all of my classes this semester! I know B's are ok and I'm trying to see if I can be ok with a B here and there. I have a lot of hw and I guess I'm a little worried lol. I pray God can help us with all of this!

yeah when you've been getting good grades for a while, it's as if you expect them lol. I'm not sure what else to say, I really should not want to be so psycho about grades...I know having a few B's here and there won't hurt anything unless jobs and possible grad-school require it...but I don't know much about the requirements for all of that.

I like getting good grades, but I don't go nuts over it. I do my best to get 100%, which means knowing everything I need to know and more (just in case). But I'm not nuts about it, like picking a fit over a B or even a C. It rarely, but if it does I know that I did my best and no grade can take that away from me. I'm so past that, that's what happens when you're in a competitive program and all your classmates see are grades. Grades are important, but the knowledge you gain, retain, and your passion for learning are what's important. When you see someone that has a 96% average but know nothing about the outside world in terms of culture and so on...it's disappointing. They're basically ignorant to anything they haven't been forced to study. That's why it doesn't bother me if I don't get an A.

good point. I've been thinking about how I'm often not interested in the class subject, but am interested in getting an A. It's really hard because some of the homework and readings are tough and unpleasant, so I feel as if I start to just worry about getting good grades rather than actually learning.
