Exodus1-
Now Joseph and all his brothers and ALL that generation died.
The first 7 verses of Exodus 1 cover 400 years of time.
What could cause a new Pharaoh to distrust or fear the Israelites?
...so they became slaves. They built Pithom and Rameses as store houses.
They still increased in number reguardless of their oppression.
vs 15- the king orders the midwives, Shiphrah and Puah to kill the male babies at birth. But they fear God more and did not do this thing. So when questioned on the progress, they lied to the king and said they were born before they got there.
So God blessed the midwives.
[God's law supercedes man's law. In this case was lieing ok? Some believe- yes. Some say murder is a worse crime. God honered them because they feared him, not because they lied.
Then the Pharoah became desperate and announced to all-- to throw the male babies into the nile.
Why didn't the Israelites revolt or fight back out of their slavery?
Maybe they thought this could never happen to them and didn't prepare? No leadership? No weapons? No will power?

She was around 100 years priare to Moses....
RamesesII
Ramesses II - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (1279-1213 bc)
Had 20 to 100 children. Could have been any one of his daughters that took in Moses.
Nothing is said about Moses's childhood. But from what clues we find in vs's 11-17, Moses knew how to fight. He knew he was Hebrew and who his family was. He must have delveloped a thick skin and backbone living in the palace as a Hebrew while his kind were slaves. How odd that must have been.
whether he was in Rameses II palace,9 who was the one who ordered the slaughter of Hebrew boys Moses's age), (which we assume) or another,it had to have been hard at times. Obviously Moses began to dislike his postion and had a dislike of the Egyptians. Must have been torn.
The first thing Moses does is kill an Egyptian when he goes out to visit his people. He finds himself in trouble and flees, knowing the Pharoah will kill him...no love loss there....hummm.
He resques 7 daughters at a well from marauding shepards in Midian.

The king of Egypt died. But slavery continued. God heard and was concerned.

DID YA'LL MISS ME?
I've been taking care of my grandbaby!!!! Enjoying summer.
Ex3-
Where's all my lady friends to respond..huh? LOL
Ok, imagine you go to work, a normal day, boring as usual and you are minding your own buisness...you see a bush on fire!!!!! What's so unusal about that you ask? Well, this bush is not turning to ash. Huh? And...there is an angel or a person standing in this fire!!!!
Pinch yourself!!! Could this, if this happened today....would we not accuse our ownselves of using drugs??!!!!!! LOL
Now, 40 years has passed by and God has been training Moses how to be a shepard. One day, God decides to do a trick with his Bic lighter and gets Moses's attention and begins to have a conversation with him. God first gives a revelation on his Holiness and requests Moses to take his shoes off before coming any closer.
[I have a testimoney of this accual event in my own life]
God tells Moses that he is concerned about the Israelites and that he choose him (Moses) to go get them out of Egypt.
Moses was nice about responding to God..."Who am I...".
I would have told God, "Do you have any idea who you are asking?" Meaning, ...""Have you lost your senses?" LOL "Come-on God, me???!!"
......it's the new lingo....
God gave his name--I am Who I am. Which means Yahweh. An action word.
[U2 has a song titled Yahweh]
God wants Moses to go to the elders first to tell them he is concerned and has seen what the Egyptians have done and wants to bring you out of this misery and move you out of Egypt to another land of abundance.
He also warns that Pharoah won't be agreeable, till/unless God stricks them with all kinds of wonders/troubles.
The Israelties were invited to Egypt (Goshen) and unfairly made into slaves later. Things would become so troubling for the Egyptians that they wanted to be rid of them to the point that when asked for any valuables they got them without question.

It could have been the sheer number of them. God may have put the fear of them in Pharaoh's heart to prepare for His mighty miracle of the Passover.

Thankyou so much for commenting F&B! This is so true! Just think if Moses hadn't killed the Egyptian he wouldn't have had to flee, ...things could of been alot different too, huh?

I'm not sure about that AmericanAngel. God may have required what happened. Moses might not have had to flee for murder, but he was needed to lead the Jews. God may have had him leave for another reason. If Moses hadn't been raised in Pharaoh's household, as one of his heirs, he wouldn't have had the skills to lead the large number of Jews that God had raised up in Egypt.

Ex 2:12- Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
(this shows that Moses knew what he was going to do was wrong)
Ex2:14,15- The man said, Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian? ( this shows even the Hebrews knew what he did and judged him for wrong)
Then Moses was afraid and thought, What I did must have become known. (sure it did, someone came up missing in the ranks and they went looking for him.)
When Phararoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharoah and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.
Moses was probably reevaluating his life, had accsess to visiting his mother and family, I'm sure, and got to know the Isrealites as well. I believe he made a decision to be true to who he was. All the events of his life were under God's direction, but Moses still had a free will and he willing choose the life he should have had over Egyptian pleasures.
Killing someone was still wrong, but in this case it was for defending his own, However, Pharoah still tried to kill Moses.
If he might not have had to flee, why did Pharoah try to kill him?
Maybe God did require for all this to happen in order to get Moses away from Egypt. Moses didn't learn sheparding in Egypt, he learned in Midian for 40 years.

Gen4-
4:1-14-
If I didn't know it, I think Moses was very relunctant to do this. Even after God himself did "magic" with a stick and cloak and a glass of water.
Even God got a little angry with Moses for not reacting to these miracules and even went so far as to get Aaron involved, just to please and coax Moses......
There is so much going on here I can't begin to tap away....
So know, Moses is going back to Egypt with his family, to see if he had any family alive there.
On the way.....remember God said he would kill Pharaoh's firstborn son if he refused to let Israel go. Now, Moses and or Moses's son was not circumsized! Why?
Zipporah, who may have not liked this physical act, did this act (of circumcision) to her son and placed the forskin and blood on Moses's feet, as a gesture of repentance for diobediance.
I find this significant, a forwarding of Acts 2:38 before going about doing the Lords buisness. So Moses , Aaron and the elders took some time to talk, pray and worship before going any further.
